Caroline’s Freshman Year – Legacy Series Spotlight

Meet Caroline – Freshman Legacy Series Spotlight

One of my favorite parts of the Legacy Series is getting to know my clients over time, starting from their very first session. This year, I had the joy of photographing Caroline Jaymes Cox for her Freshman Legacy session, and I can already tell this is going to be such a fun four-year journey.

A Little About Caroline

Caroline is a freshman who keeps busy with cheer, volunteering with NCL, helping with Brookdale Senior Bingo, and hanging out with her brand new puppy.

Why She Chose the Legacy Series

When I asked Caroline why she wanted to join the Legacy Series, she said:

“It’s like a mini time capsule! It will be fun to track my growth and progress over the next four years, and see how my interests and goals change.”

Yes, yes, YES — that’s exactly what this series is all about.

Highlights from Her First Session

Caroline’s favorite part of her photo session?

“I felt amazing, and it was so special to get this individual time. My favorite part was being outside in nature.”

She didn’t include any extra people in this session (we’ll definitely fix that in future ones!), but her family was there cheering her on the whole time.

The Personal Touch

Props are one of my favorite ways to make a session unique, and Caroline brought Book 3 of the Harry Potter series — her favorite of all the HP books.

“To me, it has the best plot of the series.”

Love this little detail!

A Letter to Her Future Self

One of the most meaningful parts of the freshman Legacy session is writing a letter to your senior self. Caroline said:

“It was fun to capture some notes about me now. I hope I remember my first football season as a cheerleader.”

I have no doubt she will.

Looking Ahead

After high school, Caroline plans to attend college and hopes to find a career that allows her to travel and see the world. When I asked her what she would tell other students about joining the Legacy Series, she didn’t hesitate:

“Absolutely do it! You never know how much you can change in four years, and it’s so fun to be able to document it and look back.”

Caroline

— thank you for kicking off your Legacy Series journey with so much heart. I can’t wait to see where the next three years take you.

If you’d like to start your own Legacy Series journey (freshman or senior year), send me a message. It’s never too early — or too late — to capture your story.
